Interviewer: How was the reaction in your mind to what you guys created that day?
“That was kind of like throwing a rock into the pond and watching the ripple effect. You hope as a songwriter that your songs resonate with people, that’s your goal. That’s an ambitious goal, doesn’t always work.
So you put a song together and hope someone grabs on to it and that was one of the songs that just snowballed.
The emails we got, the people that I meet on the street who tell me about how the song affected them, people who aren’t even Rise Against fans, it sort of in a way transcended the scene that we live in which is cool because you want people to find the songs that can potentially help them.”
